A1 protects against organic vapors with a boiling point above 65 °C, including paint solvents, gasoline vapors, and alcohol-based vapors. Class 1 means it is suitable for short-term work or work with moderate concentrations. P, the particulate filter, protects against solid and liquid aerosols, including dust, mist, smoke, and certain pathogens. 3M recommends using filter cover TR-6100FC to protect the filter from physical damage.
